Propane Detector

On my way home from Freds shop after getting the new Samsung installed I began hearing a chirping sound which I as first though that perhaps a fridge door cracked open.  When I was able to stop I found the chirp was coming from the propane detector which immediately stopped as I walked back towards the unit.  It has not done it again but the green light is fast flashing....which may or may not mean anything.

Fred didn't do anything to the detector and the old fridge propane line was disconnected and capped in the bay so that shouldn't be an issue.

Of course I don't have the manual for the unit and no model number or the like on the face.

Thanks for any thoughts.

Dick,
First thing I'd do is to remove the reefer vent panel and verify (with soapy water) that the gas line to the old reefer is fully sealed. Mine felt tight but had a very slow leak when we checked it.

Steve, Fred removed the propane line and sealed the hole in the floor.  It was capped below the floor in the bay.  I'll check it but I suspect it's something else.  Is the quick flashing green light normal??

Our detector chirped one time when some water got to it.  I have the Samsung as well and while washing the coach some water got in through the outside fridge cover which RV Outfitters had "sealed" with duct tape on the inside.  Anyway, I must have sprayed some water in and it worked its way to the unit as Margaret said "There's a beeping going on and a little water on the floor" (which wound up being just beneath the device - as relocated by RV Outfitters just beneath the fridge).

I recycled the switch and now make sure I don't put direct spray on the outside fridge cover and haven't had another issue with it.

With mine, On is steady green. Alarm is red. Flashing red or green can indicate end of life. Mine is labeled with light indicator meaning on front of unit. Yours may be the same.

Mikes comment about water pinged a memory.  Fred mentioned that the ice maker valve he installed behind the fidge sprung a leak that resulted in minor flooding.  Guess I'll spring for a new detector.

It's in the cabinet below the fridge facing forward near the outer wall.  Just about directly below and forward of where the water came into the coach.  In the Emerald floor plan the fridge is just behind the recliner and forward of the dining room.....sorta acts as a divider between the  two.
