CAREFREE SL AWNING REPAIR

The strap to pull down the SL window awning broke and I can not even get the end cap off to slide the plastic part that the strap attaches to out of it's slot in the roller.
Any help I can get is appreciated, it looks like it should be easy but.

The easiest way to fix your pull would be to take a Drimel tool and grind off the shoulder on one end enough to remove and replace strap. This will not hurt a thing.

Greg on our 07 Contest with Carefree awnings you should be able to unroll the awning far enough to slide the strap to the far end and with a small screw driver bend the rubber strap insert down to pull out the old strap. Then reinsert the new strap. This was what I have done in the past. Hope this helps
