Kitchen Storage Improvement
« on: April 17, 2017, 09:38:44 PM »
After getting ideas from fellow Beaver’s coaches at recent rallies, we decided to add to our kitchen storage capability. First to be addressed was the pantry. We removed the OEM basket slide assembly and replaced it with wood shelves. Much improved storage capability and one can access the shelves when the slide is in via one side cabinet door and the end cabinet door.

Next was the under-sink area. Again we removed the OEM slide. We used 16” slides from Home Depot and built a 2 “drawer” assembly to hold the cleaning stuff that normally is stored under the sink. We made the drawers 8” wide which allowed our existing waste basket to fit nicely. One can only have 2 drawers due to the height of some of the cleaning bottles (e.g. Windex and Folex).

Nice job Steve! Our pantry only has the end door with the slide out wire shelving, which we can fully access regardless of the slide position, but it does not have the capacity your new shelving has to offer.

Bryan,
Don't they say imitation is the best type of flattery?  :)
Thanks! Steve

Steve,

Nicely done! Great to make some sawdust and have a project that improves the coaches livability work out. I know it is not always easy but it is rewarding :-)

Great work Steve, I removed the rack from my 06 PT back in 14 and used Rubbermaid wire shelve that fit perfectly with the space I had. Makes a huge difference in the amount of storage to the pantry. I posted a couple of pictures in here at the time.
