Location of the oil pressure sender/Sensor 3126b Cat
« on: June 25, 2017, 03:58:41 PM »
HI everyone,

I am showing 0 oil pressure. this is different since I removed and repaired the starter.
The main runs OK so I don't think it has zero pressure but running it is asking for trouble without knowing the source of the issue.

When I was under the coach I saw:
there are 2 pressure senders mounted on the frame near the starter
one is dead - other is going
not sure if that is the oil though
This is the only difference since pre starter problems to post starter problem.

Does anyone know if these two sensors are for the oil - If not what are they and where can I buy new ones??

Tom,
Most Beavers from the era of your coach had an oil pressure line running to a two sending unit manifold. One sending unit supplied data for the analog dash oil pressure gauge, and the other sending unit supplied the data for the analog oil pressure located in the filter bay at the right rear of the coach.

That is the unit

Unfortunately I can't find any numbers on the sender units.
The oil gauge tops at 100 lbs

Any Idea of the part number??

Thank You

Tom, location for oil sensors on Cat 3126 B engine ( if Equiped depending on engine S/N.
Left side of engine looking from back of engine to front. In between secondary fuel filter
and heui injection pump in line with bottom of fuel filter. Second oil sensor same side of
engine about 6 inches in front of engine ECM looking from back to front. ( if equipped depending
on engine S/N number. The part number, you may have older number 161-9931 and been
updated to 194-6725.  Dave Atherton Retired Cat Mechanic

Tom,
If you are referring to the two analog oil pressure gauges, there is a low possibility that they are Caterpillar sending units. If you can determine the make of the dash gauge, you can determine a matching analog sending unit for that gauge.
