Pro Sine 2.0 No AC Output
« on: June 25, 2017, 09:12:00 PM »
So next up on my new to me 2002 Contessa...no AC power to outlets, 120 volt lights and Microwave when on the inverter.

Things work fine when on generator or shore power.  Breakers in the bay with the inverter not tripped, but I did flip off and on.  There is an off/on/remote button on the inverter that I have turned off and on several times.  There doesn't appear to be any other reset on it.

House batteries appear to be charging as far as I can tell when on generator or shore.  The Pro Sign display panel will show 117 volts 0 amps on 60 hertz for AC output when inverting.

The manual mentions a fuse under the bed?  A quick peek under the mattress didn't reveal anything.

Is there any fuse in the battery bay that would be connected to the inverter AC out?  Looked but didn't see anything obvious.  Just something wrong with the inverter?

Any ideas?

Is that the one with the 15/20 amp 115AC outlet on it?  If so, is there 115VAC there?

No, mine has just the flat plate without the outlet.  I did take it off but it is just wires inside.

Is the inverter communicating with the remote panel? Reason I ask, is I had the same problem and I was ready to replace my inverter. All it really was, was the communication wire between the remote panel and the inverter. Marty

I think so.  I can see the temp, AC in if present, battery voltage, etc.  It is showing me 117 volt and 60 hertz AC out on the panel but zero Amps for AC out.  I'm guessing zero amps is due to nothing drawing current when inverting due to whatever this issue is not getting it to the outlets and such.

Hi Andrew, Did you check the 300 amp fuse between the house batteries and the inverter? I think it is located above the batteries. Fred

I've looked in the battery compartment but there is a lot going on in there and don't know what most of it is for yet.  If there is likely a fuse for the inverter in there I will take my time and look at things closely.

Andrew, The fuse is not a typical automotive type. It is 3/4" by 3 inches long and has 2.0 gauge battery cables on each side of it. If you own a "multimeter", put it on continuity setting and check. Another way to check is with the meter set on dc volts and check the voltage on each side of the fuse. One side will be battery voltage and the other side will be the inverter charger voltage that should be going to the batteries. Fred

Andrew,
If the inverter feed wire fuse is good and your have 12 volts at the battery cables at the inverter, but no inverter output. You can try to reset your Prosine inverter by unplugging from shore power an removing the house battery cable for a minute or so, then reconnect the cable. Do not just turn off the battery switch, you need to remove the negative battery cable. If this does not get the inverter back operating, you will probably be inverter shopping soon because a Prosine inverters are not repairable.

Thanks everyone!  Will be fuse hunting on Monday and will try the negative disconnect if that checks out.
