Replacing passenger sofa/bed
« on: August 14, 2017, 03:49:40 AM »
I own a 2006 Monterey.  I have a sleeper/sofa on the passenger side. The distance is 71+ inches from slide to kitchen cabinet. I would like to replace with a wall hugger dual recliner.  Has anyone done this and what and where did you buy this piece of furniture?

Tom, I just finished this change to my 06 38' Monterrey. I had the jackknifed couch on the passenger side and the sleeper on the DS.  I tried to just remove the jackknife and put in the recliner.  However the slide floor is not wide enough on the PS.  It is wider on the DS.  So I removed the jackknife couch and moved the sleeper sofa to that side, then added the swivel recliner.  It works great that way.  I added some floor molding to give it a finished look.  Also added a small end table.

I replaced sofa on passenger side by extending the floor of the slide  We had a metal end manufactured  the thickness of the floor and about 6 or 7 inches wide, then we bolted it to the floor.
