Pat, answer is posted on Ask Dave and is a reprint off Caterpillar technical information and is
for serial number 2KS. Do not want to confuse the question but transmission retarder is not part
of the motorhome setup as you indicated used on your Class 8 truck. We are referring to
Motorhome operation with Allison transmission and not a manual transmission used on heavy
haul truck equipped with both Jake Brake and transmission retarder. Want to thank you for adding
your experience and back ground in helping with the Jake Brake question. Would like to add
control switching on Cummins and Caterpillar are different, we are talking motorhome with
Caterpillar Jake Brake setup. Again looking in Ask Dave should answer the Caterpillar operation .
