Slide gouges

I am getting some nasty gouges in the plastic underbelly of my driver side flush floor slide.  Not sure how to go about fixing this or the root cause of the problem.  Must be a broken roller or something.  I don't think the slide is sagging.  I have read about Guardian Plates that are nothing more than stainless steel plates screwed to the bottom of the slide which the rollers ride on rather than the plastic material.  Very similar to the sagging slide fix on the common problem page here on the BAC.  I would really like to know what is causing this so as to fix the problem and not just a Band-Aid. Of course the picture shows the real damage is in the middle of the slide just above the basement compartments that move with the slide.  That will be a real bugger to get at to fix.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance to all the helpful Beaver care takers.
