trying to find a fuse
« on: November 25, 2017, 09:39:51 PM »
hello seems my 2006 Thunder has a blown fuse as the outside porch light switch is out along with both goose neck map lights and doorbell plus the map lights switch.

I looked in the manuel and found the doorbell fuse at 2amp which is fine under the drivers seat in the first bay door. The porch light I have no idea where to look or what it is listed under? Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

You might want to look at your electrical panel and the fuses in it.  One of those fuses is possibly blown and needs replacement.

I don’t know about your Thunder, but our house electrical center is behind cabinet doors over the toilet.  The two Multiplex modules have 10 fuses each, a couple of which represent the forward left and right reading lamps, the map lights I think.  Also in that cabinet is a small black inset box.  Remove its cover (may take a little finger muscle to pop it off), and on ours #7 top right is the porch light fuse.  Check all the twenty(?) 10 amp fuses along the bottoms of the two modules, as well as the fuses in the box with the cover.

Hi Joel
The panels in our coach over the toilet are all 110v breakers the bedroom closet has the 12v fuses but I don't see the one listed for the porch and map lights. The rocker switch up by the front door is not getting power as it is not lite up when pushed all the other ones as in step lights etc are working I will keep looking for that fuse also the doorbell fuse I found up front but that one is fine??

Thanks for your help

Paul,
You probably have a relay in the front elec bay that controls the porch light and a few other functions. It may be bad or just needs to be re-seated.

Mine's a 2005 but probably very close to what you have.
Here's a picture of the front bay compartment layout (taken from the decal on the compartment door) there is a porch light relay - you could start by checkign if you have 12V power to the "K9" relay.

Paul,
If your coach has the multiplexd elect system, R12 is the porch light relay (frnt elec bay) and F7 is the fuse (on mine it is located in the powder room).
