Lighting touch pad

2007 Beaver Contessa. Can someone please tell me the location of the fuse for the bedroom touch pad. Haven’t figured out how to get the cover off of the touch pad either.

I'm not sure about your Contessa, Dale, but on our '06 Monterey the Multiplex modules I think you are referring to are in the same cabinet over the toilet as the alternating circuit main panels.  There are two modules with ten 10 amp fuses each, along the module bottoms.

Prying the cover plate off the switch panel is tricky without cracking it or damaging surrounding wood;  I'd see that the fuse isn't the issue first.

Dale,
The touch pads are not fused. There is master Fuse for the multiplex system in the fuse box in the bathroom cabinets above the commode. It is fuse #F9. See Fuse list attachment below. The actual multiplex layout is shown in the 08 Contessa dwgs in the Coach Assist link.

You are right on about the locations. Apparently not the fuse as all the other touch pads are working. I’ll try to get the touch pad cover off. Any suggestions as how to proceed without damage would be greatly appreciated.

Dale,
I haven't tried this but Lee says it worked.

Assuming it is the entire pad and not an individual item on the pad (you didn’t specify), I guess I’d try Steve’s recommendation regarding Lee’s method.  Try placing paperboard or something along and under the cover’s edges to protect the wood against any tool.  I’d expect at least a couple catch prongs that need compressing a tad along each edge of the cover, but you never know.

If there’s only one fixture on the pad not working, then check the 20 spade fuses on the two multiplex modules in the bathroom.  I have a legend of what fuse goes to what, but it may not be the same on your coach.

Dale, my experience taking off the plastic multiplex panels is to carefully  lift off the panel at two of the 4 tabs that hold the panel in place. On our bathroom pad with 6 lights controls the top tabs are about one inch inside from each side. The tool described by Steve would work.

I know the paint can opener works great, because you can pull out a little and down to unhook the little catches.  I have thinned down the end and sharpen the end a bit to grab the edge. Joel idea of protecting the wood is a good way to go.
