Water Pressure Woes
« on: February 02, 2018, 02:38:39 PM »
We have recently been having some water pressure issues. We thought it might be our water pressure regulator so replaced it and still have an issue. Here is what happens. With our tank full using the water pump our water pressure is fine. If we are hooked up to water without the pump we have constant pressure but it’s low. If we are hooked up and have the pump on we have great pressure for a short time then it goes to very low pressure then after a while back up again. We know it’s when the auto fill is on and the tank starts filling that the pressure goes down. The weird thing is it seems to be refilling the tank after very little use. Our system consists of pressure regulator, filter, water softener two onboard filters. Larry wonders if the problem could be the red hat filler solenoid?  Anyone else have this problem and found a solution. Filters have been changed as well.
Thanks,
Laura

Laura,
You do not have a problem with your coach. The issues that you described are related to low pressure or excess restrictions in the city water supply. If the city water supply has adequate pressure (above 65 PSI), your filters and water softener are creating too much restriction to give you the flow rate that you want. So the pump is removing water from the tank to supply you with water thus lowering the tank level and triggering the fill solenoid to add more water. So the correction is to fill your tank, turn off the fill valve until the tank gets low and then refill the tank, but do not leave the fill valve (or autofill) turned on unless you need to refill the tank.

Gerald,
If we have the water on and the city fill on we get no water in the coach at all unless we use the water pump. We have done as you suggested but the problem is if we forget to check it...and we will...we will run our tank dry. Our system is not working the way the manual says it should and how it used to work.

Thanks,
Laura.
