As Steve mentions, gloves with a rubber like texture will offer more twisting torque ability while pressing up to disengage the ring tabs. The ceiling material on some coaches often presents a lot of resistance to both the compression and the twisting forces.
If you happen to have some already onboard and handy, I’ve used successfully that rubbery mesh anti-skid stuff used by many of us on shelves and counters to keep things from sliding; a handful of it offers a ton more turning torque on the metal rim for both removing and reinstalling them. It also can be used to grasp the J10 lamps that like any halogen can be ruined by the oils on fingerprints, but if you’re tossing them in favor of LEDs you likely don’t care.
