Where is my VIN?
« on: March 22, 2018, 01:41:26 PM »
I was just asked for my VIN number to match up a Safety-T-Plus stabilizer. The only VIN number I can find is on my data plate and the tittle and it is a six digit number. They are wanting a 17 digit number. Where is the 17 digit VIN number for my Beaver? Thanks!

Easiest spot is on the data sheet inside a cabinet door - the sheet that lists all the coach equipment models and serial numbers. The VIN is at the top of the sheet, noted as the Federal ID Number.

Should be stamped in the chassis rail near the center of coach on the passenger side.

Your coach DMV registration card should have it.  Also, your auto insurance documents should have it.

Wow... I learn something new every day.  I discovered a data sheet in the back closet that has the full VIN.  Also know that my model is a Brandy Wine.  Thanks for helping out. Anyway, we are traveling to Panama City, FL next week and have decided to take a detour coming back to Missouri to stop in Austell, GA where the Safe-T-Plus factory is located.  They will install a Safe-T-Plus stablizer for $638 with a test drive and adjustments included.  Checked around other places who wanted between $900 and $1000 to do it.  It adds an additional 180 miles to the trip but believe it's worth the effort for the factory to install it.

That sounds like a plan Fred, do you have to get an appointment way ahead of time to have one installed? I haven't done it but have thought about it.

Hey LaMonte, yup... made an appointment a couple days ago for 4 April. So, calling Safe-T-Plus a couple weeks out would likely suffice. I will let you know how it turns out. Fred

Fred,

Just to be technical, your model is still a Patriot Thunder. If you look at the Beaver brochure for your coach you will see there were several floor plans available. Brandywine is the floor plan and interior decor.

As in our Beaver Monterey, the Laguna IV is the floor plan (Laguna indicates the interior decor, the IV indicates the number of slide outs)

Ah... thanks Stan. Don’t have a brochure for our coach. Nice to know information.

LaMonte, I had a Safe-T Plus installed two weeks ago at JOSAM in Orlando.  I thought about heading to Austell, GA. for the free install but since I was already at Disney World thought the cost of fuel would offset the savings.  Cost for stabilizer, bracket and install was $755.  Since I have used the coach sparingly over the two years I've owned it I feel better about JOSAM checking out the underside to identify any potential problems.  They did find and replaced a bent left front torque rod.
