Waterton Lakes NP - Seattle rolling rally interest
« on: April 12, 2018, 02:03:11 AM »

I am attempting to determine how much interest there may be in the club for the following rally. If you are interested please send me an e-mail at

Waterton Lakes NP - Seattle rolling rally to be held in 2020 with 7 National Parks, & 17 campgrounds in Alberta and British Columbia.
The rally is projected to start on Monday, July 6, 2020 and end on Monday, August 31, 2020.
The projected starting location is Waterton Lakes NP with the rally ending in or near Seattle.
There are 40 projected days with scheduled activities and 16 travel days.
During the rally the longest projected driving day is approximately 212 miles and the average drive between campgrounds is 112 miles.
This rally is projected to run with 12 – 15 coaches
The number and types of meals during the rally is still TBD.  Projected highlights include, but are not limited to, the following:
1. Waterton Lakes Boat Tour
2. Head-Smashed-In Buffalo Jump
3. Calgary Heritage Park
4. Canadian Badlands National Park
5. Rocky Mountain House
6. Jasper National Park - Whistlers Campground & Maligne Lake Boat Tour
7. Columbia Icefields via Snow coach
8. Banff National Park - Tunnel Mountain Campground
9. Lake Louise & Moraine Lake - Lake Louise Trailer Campground
10. Yoho National Park with Emerald Lake, Wapita Falls, & Takkakaw Falls
11. Canada's Glacier National Park
12. Mount Revelstoke National Park
13. Okanagan Valley – wine country
14. Hell's Gate & Othello tunnels
15. Whistler Mtn.
16. Vancouver, BC
17. Vancouver Island - Victoria, Butchart Gardens
18. Seattle – Boeing tour, Underground Seattle, etc.
Since this rally will run primarily in Canada projected costs must take into account a worst case scenario for the US - Canadian exchange rates, inflation, and ATM fees for campgrounds, restaurants, etc.  that require payment in cash.
With these cost factors in mind the projected worst case cost for the rally will be $6,625 with an initial deposit of $1,500. At the end of the rally refund checks will be issued for the difference between the projected cost and the actual cost of the rally.
To put this BAC rally in perspective a comparison can be made with Fantasy RV Tours 38 Day Canada Land & Sea rally priced at $9,195
Note: This trip will make extensive use of GyPSy Guide Self-Guided Driving Tours so a smart phone or tablet capable of running these apps is advised.
Rally Masters will be Keith & Eileen Cooper with Roy & Vicki Warren as the co-rally masters.

The  link below will take you to to google maps and provides a perspective on the proposed route.
