Porch light fuse location
« on: May 09, 2018, 07:43:52 PM »
Hello!         2006 patriot thunder vicksburg lV 44’ 4 slides
I am trying to locate the fuse for the porch light, I have checked every fuse in the drivers side road box as well as the passenger side rear panel in the closet, the panel in the bathroom is only 120/240.
The handle bar lights still workand all the other switches on the small panel on the passenger side.
Thanks for all help

Jan,
Not sure if your 06 Patriot is similar to my 07 Contessa but assuming it is, there should be a plastic panel in the toilet box near the multiplex controls that has DC fuses in it. On mine, F7 is the porch light fuse.

As per Steve's comment, see below image from our Monterey.  Most coaches of the era are similar.  The black box's cover to the right of my legend requires prying off to see the fuses.  As with Steve's, the porch light is top right #7.

If the (I think red 10 amp mini - carry spares) fuse isn't blown, it is either the switch or the lamp under the orange cover.  If moisture got inside, like any other 12v exterior light fixture, corrosion of bulb and contacts can be an issue.  Also be aware that on some coaches the entry lock panel that's to supposedly turn on the porch light by holding down a touchpad is not functional.  I guess it was considered an "add on" feature, and Beaver/Monaco did not program in that option, on our Monterey at least.

Our original porch light gave out this past Winter while in Yuma.  We got the one below to replace it.  It has a motion sensor and a day/night programmable function making it very handy to leave on overnight.  It can be set so it stays off at night until someone/something gets seen moving by, then it turns on for a minute or so. I think the unit we purchased was about $50 in an RV supply store.

I replaced ours with the same product David did. We're happy with it.

Re. the Starlights SL1000, is its sensitivity adjustable?  I’d hate to be parked at Smiling River (Metolius) and have every Tom, Dick, and Alvin chipmunk outside making the thing go on and off all night, driving me nuts.

Also, Jan, I note a Porch Light Relay (K23 on our rig) in the chassis electrical bay, streetside front, as well as the fuse in the toilet room cabinet.

Forgive me if this is too obvious, but have you considered a burned out bulb in your porch light?
Good luck, Sam

Joel - Yes, the motion sensor is adjustable, although I did not adjust it from its factory setting.  I think the Phillips-looking screw head between the two small LED function lights on the right-side face of the unit is the sensor adjustment.  The two small LED function lights define the mode the porch light is in - blue LED is the daytime mode, green LED is the nighttime mode.
