Solar Panel Control Module
« on: May 21, 2018, 04:21:23 PM »
I have 2003 Beaver Contessa. I have one  factory installed  solar Panel And one Installation and care manual for 4 different Photovoltaic modules. That is a Photo copy that I think the previous owner has added to the file box from Matrix solar Technologies .

PW 1000 12V - 24V
PW750
PW/PWX 500/400

The owners manual only states that the Solar panel is a 100 watt panel with a charge controller that can handle up to 150 watts.
I have looked every where for one of these controller modules or a fuse or switch or something with no luck. My solar system is working just fine and I know that (if it ant broken don't fix it) But I  just want to know where  this controller is for any future problems, Or maybe if I can add a second panel easily without having to change out the hole system.

Guy,
Not sure where your module is located but in SMC chassis coaches its been near the battery compartment. In my current 07 (Roadmaster chassis) it's in the same bay as the water pump.

Thanks Steve But after another complete search I have come to the conclusion that I do not have a solar panel controller
I did see a post somewhere that stated that a controller was not needed for a simple installation just to maintain the batteries parasitic loos.

Have you looked behind the panel in your water compartment. I have to remove a partition by crawling in the rearmost slide and unscrewing a small removable panel and my solar controller is on the ceiling right above the water pump.

Yes I have removed the panel for the water compartment there is quite a mess of wires in  there and all the modules for the Aladdin system.
But I am not seeing anything for the Solar panel.
