Kenwood replacement
« on: June 14, 2018, 04:08:23 PM »
The screen on our in-dash Kenwood radio has lost most of its ability to vary contrast.  So it is very difficult to see in any kind of light.  Is there any basically direct replacement that anyone has used?  We use only the screen for the camera and data.   We never use any of the radio functions.

May be best to just replace it with a monitor of some sort.  I can't find any information if the display is dependent on any functions in the radio.

Has anyone had a similar issue and been able to correct it?

Bill, Joe Henderson replaced his kenwood monitor with something that was a direct fit. You could try to PM him and see if he has a model number.

Any monitor will work for the Aladdin. Joe also added a second monitor near his drivers window just for Aladdin info. The Aladdin uses a "Video Coach System" box that sends the video signal to a display. You just need a display with an RCA type input.

In my coach that box is in the compartment above driver's seat.
