Recommended Repair Facilities around Spokane WA.
« on: June 27, 2018, 03:22:27 PM »
We have an issue with our drivers A/C compressor which has started leaking oil from around the face plate directly behind the pulley. I do not plan on operating it to prevent any damage due to lack of lubrication.
If anyone knows of a facility that they have favorable experience with that would be within 2 hours drive, could you please pass it along.

Larry,

I had positive experiences with the Cummins Coach Care system in the Pacific Northwest.  There is one in Spokane.  If they don't work on A/C, they would probably give you a good reference.

I also had a positive experience with Valley Freightliner near where we live.  Freightliner dealers cover Cat, Cummins and Allison.  Since a lot of motorhomes are on Freightliner chassis it is common to see motorhomes in their shops.

Larry,
When you consider the labor cost for installing a compressor shaft seal, it is usually more cost efficient to just replace the compressor instead of replacing the shaft seal on an old compressor.

Larry,
We were having problems with our A/C on our 06 Monterey.  The folks at Peterbilt in Spokane Valley were able to handle our problems.  We were losing the charge and there were a couple of other things.  Long story short.  Solved our problem.  Not over the hill on price either if I remember correctly.

Thanks to all who responded:
I am at Western State CAT in Hayden Idaho. Getting a New Sanden compressor plus drier and expansion valve installed. Checked with Sanden , who is the manufacture of the compressor, and their recommendation was New, not rebuilt. We will see how it goes. So far very professional and cooperative.

Larry, western states Caterpillar in Spokane is a very good Caterpillar Shop. I have referred
Several motor home people to them and reports back very good service.
