Fuel Shut Off Valve?
« on: March 14, 2011, 10:03:16 PM »
With Marty's help, I just changed fuel filters.  Actually I helped Marty!

It would have been a lot less messy if there had been a fuel shut off.  Anybody have one, seen one or installed one?

If I ever have to change one in a rest stop it will leave a mess behind.

Thanks.

Bill,

Boats use them all the time to shut off diesel fuel before the water seperators. West Marine has them in a bronze ball valve configuration.

I just changed my filters and had a problem with siphoning fuel continuing to run. I put the pre filter back on, bled it, and moved the motorhome to a slanted area of the driveway. With the tank full I found that 18 inches of slope from the front wheels to the back stopped the siphoning and I was able to work at my own pace.....which is slow these days.
