Keyless entry problem with 06 Patriot Thunder
« on: November 16, 2015, 06:24:44 PM »
I have a keyless entry problem in my 06 Patriot Thunder. I looked through the other threads but dont see anyone covering the same problem i have so here goes.

The key pad outside will make noise when pushed, but it does not lock or unlock any doors (Entry door or bay storage doors)

Anyone had the same problem or have any ideas where to start?

Since it will not lock or unlock I suspect a fuse may be blown. Have you checked the fuses?

I looked in the big fuse bay on the outside of the coach near the front, but didnt see any labled in a way that would make me think it was the keyless entry fuse. Is there anywhere else i should be looking or did i just miss it?

You might check under the dash access panel in front of the steering wheel, Paul.  As I recall the little black keyless controller box is right under it, at least on our Monterey, along with the emergency flasher and a remote electronic tech port, all mounted on a plate.

Unfortunately I'm 450 miles away from the coach at the moment, and cannot access manuals, etc.  But others here have had experience enough to probably assist you, can at least offer the brand and model info that escapes my memory, and it should be printed on the controller box anyway.  Then you can look online for manufacturer troubleshooting help if nothing else.  Exeter brand comes to mind.

Low batteries so not enough energy to actuate the locks?

My manual (2008 Contessa) shows several unlock/lock door type fuses...in your case I would hope to see a "unlock all doors' or "lock all doors" fuse. Here is a screen shot. Do you see anything like this?

Paul did you try the Key fob, this would be a good check to trouble shoot. You did enter the bay door code 555 / 9 with your enter code correct?
