Head light switch
« on: December 24, 2018, 12:04:09 PM »
I removed my headlight switch from the panel to replace the Fog lamp switch. Did the usual push the button on the switch to remove the pull handle , now putting things back together the knob will not lock in place so the switch can be activated. Did the switch break internally?

Anyone have a part number for a replacement head light switch for a 1996 Monterey magnum chassis?

Take it back out and try inserting the shaft and pushing the button so you can see the amount of pressure on the button to reassemble. If it refuses to marry, take it to parts store and match up the electrical configuration. And it is a GM part.

Mark your headlight switch is the same as a 67 to 72 GMC or Chevrolet pickup. I posted the NAPA part number some time ago but I would have to go back to my maintenance log book for it now. Be sure to take the old with you to the parts store to match up.
