FMCA Plaques

 I have had my FMCA plaques for a while now. I just cannot decide how to put them on because I really don’t want to put holes in my coach with screws. Does anyone have a different method other than screws and also where did you mount them on your coach? Thanks

Fred,
If your coach has a rear ladder there are brackets that will mount the plaque to the ladder. Here are a couple of sources. I like the Badges R Us brackets since they set the plaque back from the step so it doesn't interfere when using the ladder.

I made simple brackets out of aluminum barstock that fasten to the inside of my engine door louvers, so for future aesthetics, there are no visible holes.  I used brass screws, washers, and nuts as they look better to me against the plaques, and the softer metal stays snug with less risk to the plaques from overtightening, but stainless would work.  Either fastener will resist corrosion.  Aluminum rivets do the fastening to the backside of the louvers.  If your coach doesn't have such louvers, this may not be an option.

I was able to mount the plates with strips of velcro they have been on for a year and still holding fine. No holes and another owner could easily clean the adhesive off

Since reading this post a week or so ago, I wanted to take a few pictures of the Non-destructive installation of my plaque using the vent holes of the engine access. It's been on there for at least a half a year and still holding well.

I used a couple of 2 inch long bolts, long enough to protrude through the plate and far enough behind the louvers to add some hardware. Four 1.5 inch rubber washers and a couple of long flat pieces of metal. Aluminum or similar. The metal pieces should be a good 3 to 4 inches long to span the louvers behind the access panel. The KEY to all this is to use a Nylon lock nut to tighten the mounts in place. The rubber washers just behind the plaque also "float" the plaque out and away from the body paint keeping contact to a minimum.

so- Bolts through the plate, Rubber washer, through Louvers, Rubber washer, metal piece, then the nylon lock nut.
