VIP Smart Wheel Controller Replacement Plug
« on: March 04, 2019, 10:44:01 PM »
Hi Folks. I have a 2003 Patriot and am about to replace the SmartWheel controller box SM 210 (on order from VIP). Does anyone know where I can get replacement connectors since the J12 plug is fried?

Thanks,

Jill Goldman

Thanks so much. This is exactly what I needed. I spoke with Victor at VIP Smart Wheel and he suggested putting in a relay to minimize the power that goes through that circuit. Way beyond my knowledge. I might have it done when I get out to Oregon in 2020.

Jill

That headlight relay fix is described on the Coach Assist links page (at bottom).

This video on the modification is also on that page. Basically you use the relay so only "low voltage"goes through through the Smart Wheel controller to operate the relay, and the higher amperage (the headlights) is powered through the high output contacts of the relay.
