Curb Weight: 1997 Beaver Marquis Garnet with Slide 40'
« on: March 26, 2019, 03:17:17 AM »
Hi we just purchased a 1997 Beaver Marquis Garnet with a slide 40'. When I went to register/ title it they wanted to know the curb weight, I gave them the gross vehicle weight, so while they titled it, Nova Scotia, Canada's Motor Vehicle are insisting on a curb weight which is lower, it is when it is empty of your belongs. I guess before they will give me a permit to drive it. I can take it to the scales, but was wondering if anyone had a weight for me, as I am in a catch 20 situation, no curb weight, no permit to drive it, to get a permit, drive it to the scales and get the weight.
Thank you.

Tim,
The 97 brochure lists the GVWR as 36220. The GCWR is shown as 41220.  The GVWR is an estimation of a fully loaded coach with fuel and passengers. Your coach should have a plate somewhere, normally on the left of the driver seat that lists weights. If no other Forum member has better info, you may want to give BCS a call or email. They may have the info.

Thank you Steve. I appreciate the information. I have yet to find a brochure, I know one is on the site and will keep digging for it.

Tim,
For future reference; Go to the BAC Home Page  https://beaveramb.org/
select About / Beaver History / and then the model year range you are interested in.
