Kitchen Slide Water Leak
« on: April 10, 2011, 05:19:52 AM »
We have a leak on the front of the living/kitchen slide, and I have observed several things that don't look quite right.  First there is an old bead of  narrow joint sealant on the top inner side of both slides.  It makes contact with the outer seal, when the slide is closed.
Second, the outer seals are both installed with the solid piece of material of the 'p' gasket pointing toward the interior of the coach. That may be correct but it would seem to help draw water toward the interior. Ant thoughts?
Third, someone has placed a thick bead of clear silicone between the inner and outer seals. The silicone looks like it might prevent good contact between the inner and outer seals when the front slide is extended.  The only opportunity to remove this will be when the outer gasket is removed.
