Turn signals and hazard lights

I have a 2000 Patriot. The turn signals and hazard lights just quit working. Beaver service tech says it is the flasher unit. Anyone know where the flasher unit actually is and what it might look like??

It's generally a round plug in unit, about 1 1/4 inches tall and about that around. Most often has printing on the outside of the "can" that has a 3 digit part number and says "flasher". It will have 2 or 3 plug in spade terminals coming out the bottom. Mine is in my left front electrical compartment, mounted on one of the panels. Easy pull out, push in fix. (2007 Contessa)

Many truck stops and or convenience stores will have them on cards along with tailight bulbs and fuses if it's convenient to stop and look to make locating yours easier. Buy the "heavy duty" one, especially if you tow anything.

Thanks Ken. I did find the flasher above the steering column. Unfortunately, the "can" was missing and the enternal parts were exposed. That eventually made contact with the metal on the column and caused a shortage somewhere between the flasher and the turn signal lever. You know what they say, "it's always something"! At least now I know what it is. Getting it fixed should be interesting. Thanks again.
