Tecma Toilet
« on: June 10, 2019, 09:29:04 AM »
Anyone have the Tecma  Silence plus toilet by Thetford?
Ours has power and the buttons light but makes no noise or attempts to flush.  Every mode in the owner manual has been tried I think.   This worked great untill this afternoon and just stopped.

Did you check the fuse in the rear closet? F10 is a 30 amp fuse for the pump. I believe control power is fed seperately.

Thanks Paul
I did check ours (F-10) which is listed as toilet.  The list for F box shows ours as a 10 amp fuse but regardless it is good.  I did find a new controller at Laurelhurst distributing in Portland Or.
Just so you know the Tecma Silence Plus is replaced with Tecma Silence Plus 'G2'.  This requires wiring mods and new bolt holes etc.  There is a few new in box like ours on Ebay and we may get a spare.  I have no desire to cut into our wall for new buttons and wires.

Ok for the record here is the update.
The toilet is Thetford Tecma Silence Plus.
The flush stopped working but then worked again late night until mid day only to quit just past noon.  This happened for 5 days.
Sometimes the button just indicated a full tank when it was empty.  This can be reset by turning off the coach power (sales switch) and back on.  But it wont flush.
When I finaly found a new control unit and was able to install it (thanks for helping Dean Johnson), the part came with instructions that didn't show wiring changes that had been made by Thetford.  Several hours of checking into this later it was installed and back to normal.
If you have original manuals for your coach showing this toilet and model and serial numbers be aware that Monaco removed the tags on install and ours has no model, serial and part numbers so save that manual.

The Thetford folks were confusing the 'SKU' number with the 'Part Number' so here are the numbers for the control unit;

The Thetford SKU# is 36398
The original Part Number is PN36311
The new one is PN40025
We have since found these on Amazon and Ebay for about $80 less than was first asked for ours.
You tube has videos that are a help as well.
