On my surge  protector, it has a 2 minute delay before coming on after power is applied to it.  Did you wait at least 2 minutes after you plugged it in?

So are you saying you plug a surge protector into power box, then plug your coach power (with built in surge protector) into added surge protector at box, turn on power and 2 minutes later your power comes on in the coach?

No I did not wait 2 minutes when I tried.

Our portable surge protector has, I believe, a 3-to-4-minute delay.  The screen on the surge protector will show a count up of delayed seconds to when the surge protector kicks in and allows power to pass on to the coach.

That is correct.  My portable surge protector has a 2 minute delay before allowing power to feed to the coach.  I do not know if I have another surge protector built into the coach as my Monterey is a very low end Beaver.  I do not have aqua hot or hydro hot nor automatic leveling or any of the many extras that Beaver built into most of their coaches.
