ECM Re-Flash ? on Ask Dave

in that article, Dave says "CAT does not recommend use of additives."
Does that apply to fuel additives?

It looks like CAT sells a "fuel cleaner" additive https://parts.cat.com/en/catcorp/343-6210 and a "fuel conditioner" https://parts.cat.com/en/catcorp/256-4968  maybe these are only meant for one-time use.

Mike, there is fuel additives and fuel conditioners sold by Caterpillar, one thing as a technician
stand point question ? How did a person determine that fuel conditioners and fuel additives were
required. Must note Caterpillar electronic engines burn clean and if they do not problems are
located with injector and ECM timing. Yes there are cases if owner report on SOS oil sampling,
record high particle count. Carbon buildup, soot Level and driving under lugging conditions. Many
Different models and company’s the earlier Diesel engines were not designed for BIO Fuels and
several engines Rated for B-8 . All of Caterpillar engines are rated for up to B-20 BIO Fuels so
There is really not any reason for the use of fuel additives and fuel conditioners within your Caterpillar
electronic engine. We had this topic posted several times and nothings has changed on use of
