Sandpaper strips for slide seals
« on: November 15, 2019, 09:28:02 PM »
My slide seals do not always fold out when extending slides.  The sandpaper strips on the side of the slides is very smooth, I am considering changing them.  Has anyone done this or have any information that might help me.  They look like the safety strips that are used on steps but not as ruff, can these strips be used?  As always any help will be greatly appreciated.  Tnaks in advance.

Rocky, Home Depot sells non-skid in the paint department in a couple of widths. You may want to try it on the room that is not transistioning. Pretty easy to install when the room is retracted. I have installed them for customers and they seem to be happy. Fred

Fred, I have looked at alot of them the grit on them varies alot and some have no grit just a rough finish.  I don't want to sand the rubber seals just have them move as there are suppose to.

Rocky, I have replaced all of our slide out strips  and used Monaco's version $60 a roll and a 3m version 2 inch wide at Home Depot and Ace. They both work and last the same. If you decide to pursue the replacement use some lacquer thinner to remove the residual glue and
a nylon scraper. Also suggest using a inch and 1/2 overlap at the top to secure the top as you remove the backing.
