windshield popping out

My 2002 marquis driver windshield is popping out. I know that I need new gaskets installed; during the inspection, that how I found out the windshield in popping out. Is there anything that would cause this? Do I need to go to a body shop or just a glass company?

You probably have a 2-piece windshield.  Those of us with 1-piece ones are more susceptible to the issue, plus glass cracking, when parked on uneven ground or experiencing bag air loss and/or not properly leveling.  But body twist can affect 2-piece windshields also.  Ours had the extra problem of being mis-mounted at the factory.

Most RV Glass Solutions facilities across the country are quite experienced with these issues and very capable of properly dealing with them.  I’d suggest looking one up in your area.  They are club sponsors and may offer a discount.  Some repairs may be insured, so ask your agent or RV Glass Solutions.

Not just any body shop will be familiar with motorhome windshield seal situations.  Many here have had quite a problem getting theirs resolved, but usually single piece ones are worse, especially the earliest attempts at them, ca. 2005-2007.

George,
Your windshields can shift in the gaskets from a sudden impact like a large pot hole , curb impact, or wreck. In these cases a good glass company can shift the windshield back into proper location and seal the glass to reduce the chance of it happening again. This solution will be much cheaper and has a lot lower risk of breaking a windshield than removing both windshields to replace the gasket. Then if and/or when you have to replace a broken windshield, you can probably get your insurance company (most, but not all companies will) to cover the labor and gasket with the windshield replacement.
