Can any one tell me what this is for?
« on: December 17, 2019, 12:38:50 AM »
Can anyone identify what the item in the attached photos is used for.  It was in my MH when I bought it, and fits in a receiver hitch, but I don't know what it is supposed to hole.  If it doesn't have a good use I will probably turn it into scrap metal and weld up something useful.  All I can imagine is that it would hold the bottom of a pole of some type.

I can't tell the scale, but there are pins like that that hold a bay door closed that doesn't have a visible latch.

You say it fits in a reciever hitch?  Perhaps a home made flag pole holder?

My guess was a flag pole holder or an antenna mount.  It is about 2 foot long and the end is about 6 inches x 6 inches with a 4 inch hole cut and welded into the center. It is also heavy, 1/4 inch wall steel.  Not going to carry it around if its not needed though.

I was certainly wrong.  I didn't "see" in the picture that the shaft was 2" square.  It looked to me like a little "hitch pin" sized thing.
