Outside faucet leaking - what brand is a good replacement?
« on: February 07, 2020, 07:25:43 PM »
The faucet in my wet bay is leaking round the handle stem when I turn it on. Maybe I can replace the stem seal.

Is this faucet an oem Beaver item? It looks kinda cheap (plastic) for a high-end coach. The Marquis has a metal/chrome faucet. What brand is that?

Has anyone replaced theirs? If yes, what brand/model did you use - that did not require cutting holes or modifying the plumbing?

Mike, Its a standard RV faucet, important criteria is 4" hole spacing (distance between knob centerline). Phoenix Faucets makes good stuff.

I think the metal Marquis faucet is 8" spacing (standard residential). I ran flex faucet connector hoses from the PEX to feed the back of the outside faucet. Gives more flexibility when you have to move the wet bay panel. I cut my panel into 3 sections to make it easier to work behind it. Good thing, as I just had to replace all the 'Easy Riser" flex lines with new faucet connector flex lines due to leaks. No more leaks!

So the handle is micro-cracked from freeze damage or something?  Otherwise I’d think just an O ring or new washer would do it.  Never had mine apart, but it’s the same or similar model.  A replacement will have to fit the wall mount, or come complete with its own.

I was not fond of the outside shower.  Too fragile!  I removed it.

To replace it I used a white plastic cutting board to cover the hole and then mounted two standard (brass ?) outdoor spigots on the cutting board.  I added a washing machine "Y" combiner to mix the hot and cold.

My current Tiffin has the same faucet.  On my to do list is to replace it with one of these:  https://www.amazon.com/Pfister-69-020-Wallmount-Laundry-Unpolished/dp/B001BNUO4W/ref=sr_1_8?keywords=laundry+faucet+wall+mount&qid=1581176440&s=hi&sr=1-8
