Thermostat
« on: July 08, 2020, 09:08:36 AM »
After 10 days in a shop apparently not plugged in we arrive at our CG to find the AH low voltage reset has tripped.
I went out and pushed the reset and now the new rear thermostat seems to be bad.  The rear two roof air / heat pumps  come on fan when the AH blowers are turned on.
All three roof units work on AC, HP and just fan.  The front and kitchen heat exchangers work normally on blower.  When we turn on the rear thermostat to furnace and just use the 110 hot water to heat the blowers work but the roof fans come on as well.
Anyone heard of this on the newer rectangle Dometic thermostat?  Is there a reset to factory on those?  I did try the coach power but no effect.
What do you think?
Thanks

Keith, Google reset Dometic thermostate if that is what you have and there are a couple different ways to reset them depending on model you have.

So we have two types of Dometic tstats out there: the older '5 button' and the newer '10 buttion' or CCC2 types. If you find the reset procedure, suggest  to post same as a 'sticky' for quick reference.
I'm at a park with poor internet, or I'd get 'er done right now.

Keith,
Not clear if the "new" t'stat was installed and systems all worked prior to latest shop visit or not. If t'stat was just installed, check for correct wiring.

I have this reset procedure for the 5-button type, and some troubleshooting info for the Dometic Duo-Therm (which is too large to post here). If the troubleshooting info is not on Coach Assist I can send it to Steve.

Ok, problem solved with a warning!
I Googled "how to reset my RV dometic thermostat".  It came up with a picture of our thermostat and instructions.
Shortly later we found the very small manual that came with and the Google instructions were wrong on this unit.
Find and read the manual or Google Dometic thermostat (3314080.015) for white (.ooo for black).  You can download the PDF manual there.
1)  Be sure Tstat is in off MODE not just off on the power button.
2)  Press and hold Mode and Zone buttons together.
You should see "init" and all available zones indicated.
3)  Release Mode and Zone buttons.
4)  Press the On/Off button.
Done!

Seems what happened was the power got low and the Tstat became confused tried to turn on the Aqua hot and roof fans at the same time.
Works fine now!
Thanks all!

Would the procedure work on me Keith?

Dometic is a pretty smart company when it comes to t-stats. Even way back with the original 4 button, 5 button and now the 10 button t-stats, they always provided for us technicians the opportunity to trouble shoot and re-boot the t-stat to get it back to its original format state. Holding down the "mode & zone" buttons while turning on the main power button always tells you first if there is an issue and reloads the eeprom so it can recognize who and what is attached to it. Hope this helps, Fred

Bill, We'll all need our batteries recharged, before we can be re-booted!!
