Where do I find the information on replacing scissor arm with gas strut ? Specifically dimension from door edge to mounting plates and pictures if they are available. Have searched gas strut replacement, scissor arm upgrade, RV door upgrade with no results.
Any guidance appreciated. I found a U Tube video but the entry door was square and not slanted as most Beavers so wasn't sure if dimensions would apply.

Here's what I found some time ago. Never did it though.

good source for struts. I replaced all struts on my baggage doors from them.

Darrell, you may already know that new OE scissors struts are available from BCS. Just had to replace mine (my fault). But spendy; $260 (yes, you read that right) after my BAC member discount.

Here is an original setup, https://shop.findmyrvparts.com/swing-arm-assembly-08408401-entry-door-hinge-p/190060.htm These have doubled in price the last year or two. Good luck on your decision.

Thanks for the advice and information.
My issue is not just the scissor arm.,
When I lift front leveler on RV , the door is pushed up which decreases gap at top between door and header. The scissor arm has little room to move and scrapes.
The door is extremely hard to open & close. I removed the scissor arm and the door opens and closes perfectly.
My wife was unable to open after returning late from sitting the Grands.
The door works fine with scissor arm in place while front leveler not in use but I'm tired of dealing with it as we are full timers and front leveler is most often in down position.
Thanks again

Installed the gas strut on front door this weekend. Works well and I am pleased.
What no one mentioned about the installation I read, is that the 2 ball attachments must be at least 1/2' to 1" wider than the length of the gas strut in a fully closed position.
In my case, with the 20" inch / 15 lb strut, that would be about 12"
I now have a couple extra holes that need to be filled.

Glad you got it fixed! Now onto the next project!
