Technical Support / Re: Fuel Quantity Issue
« Last post by Nicholas Soldevere on March 21, 2026, 03:21:35 PM »
Update: So as you all may remember, I troubleshot the system and found the sender displaying the correct resistence up at the inputs to the guage. All connections below looking good. I purchased a guage (standard 90 ohm 2" guage) from Northwest, unfortunately,  they sent they sent the wrong one. Or, it is possible I ordered the wrong one but doubtful. I wanted the indication for a trip so I installed it anyway and now I have fuel quantity indication. It seems like Northwest is going to work with me on a replacement.

On to another issue, while checking the engine bay, I found the coolant overflow bottle leaking where is attaches to the nipple on the bottle. Unfortuantely, I just had the system flushed and serviced with something like 19 gallons of final charge and distilled. Not wanting to waste the fluid I caught it all in a large low profile plastic bin. I replaced the hose with a 1 1/8 " ID fuel hose. Got out my electric pump and pumped all the fluid back in so no waste there.

The only issue with the fix is the hose end is an interference fit on the nipple of the bottle and I couldnt get it to slide up on the nipple very far, I'd like for it to be farther up. It wouldnt stretch over the nipple because that hose has a metal coil in it.

Anyone have a suggestion for getting the hose way up on there?

Technical Support / Re: Vorad

I would just leave it. The cruise will operate if you turn it on/off/on/off/on. No Vorad but at least the cruise will work.

Just an update. I replaced the defective chip in my unit. No luck, fault code indicates a failed CPU (Fault 11). System is dead. Does anyone know how to eliminate the smart cruise from the ecu in the coach. I don't know where to take the coach for reprogramming. Thanks!

Technical Support / Re: Conditions for Slide Operation- Magnum Series B Chassis
« Last post by Joel Ashley on March 16, 2026, 07:31:11 AM »
Especially if I the coach is on an already level site, I don’t know of any understructure that would be a detriment to slide operation at any height.  I’ve operated my slides on a range of heights, including the extremes.  My wife prefers the entry step be as low as possible, so campsite allowing, I’m commonly aired quite low, and have never had a slide issue as a result.

I just am reluctant to park on particularly uneven ground, requiring radical leveling that risks a twist affecting the windshield mount;  some factory windshield installations were erroneous and easily stressed (been there, …).  Your two-piece windshield is less susceptible than early one piece ones.

     Jack,
I do believe Joel is correct. When the coach is being assembled on the production line they put blocks inside the chassis to simulate the ride height of a finished coach. This dictates side wall installation and location. The mechanism that moves the rooms is carefully located on the chassis and side outriggers in relationship to these openings. They engineered the production this way, however the rooms will probably go in and out. Just saying be careful if you choose to do so. Fred

Technical Support / Dometic ac replacement with Fresh Jet 5
« Last post by Wade Loudermilk on March 15, 2026, 10:45:19 PM »
I just purchased a Fresh Jet 5 Heatpump to replace the rear unit on my 2006 Beaver.

mounted the unit no prob.

bought new thermostat 44710116542 recommended by Dometic.

bought adapter cables 9610008210.

Connected all Thermostat owers up gives E1 error code communication error.

I have tried everything cant make it work . Even connected a new cat 6 cable from thermostat to control board same result. dometic will not help . They said I needed an account number to talk to tech ser.

Bought everthing from Camping World they could get unit in a reasonable time .

Talked to CW service to see if I could take  coach in and let them troubleshoot and fix. I was told that they do not work a 2006 motorhome.

Can someone tell me there is a better way other than switching out control boards.

PLEASE HELP!!!

Joel,

Thank you for your reply. I certainly can appreciate the “square peg in a around hole” or the “catawampus” misalignment concern.
The reason I posed this question is because I would like to be able to simply extend my slides, especially the bedroom slide, while parked on a level storage location without having to start the coach.
Are there any obstructions underneath the coach that would prevent this action; or is it necessary to raise the coach to prevent misalignment between slide geometry and slide opening?
Thank you

It's still for sale, but by now you can tell I'm not too motivated to sell.  lol

Since my last post, I have installed a new Big Boy solenoid and BIRD controller.  They work marvelously.  And I had the Foothills RV Repair, formerly CJ's RV Repair, in the Foothills of Yuma, AZ, look over and repair potential leak spots in the upper beltline.

Drive it away for $100,000... or send a reasonable bid to me.

Technical Support / Re: strange settling "bump"

Dear Gene and Steve,
Thanks so much for your input!!! I love this forum. I believe we have a very small leak somewhere in the hydraulic system which may be causing the bump as Gene thought but we haven't found any leaks or puddles anywhere. We have really nice, solid pads to set up on. We are pulling everything in tomorrow to head towards home - so we shall see how it all goes. Thanks again and if there are any other issues or if we find out exactly what is going on I will keep you uposted.  Ante
