Title: 1989 Beaver Marquis roof recommendations??
Post by: Gary Schenck on April 24, 2011, 04:45:17 AM
We are an excited owner of this coach.  What is the recommendation for maintenance on the roof?  What product is best?  How often does something need to be done to prevent leaking?

Gary,
The roof on your coach is fiberglass and needs very little care. It is a good idea to check all of the sealed seams on the roof once a year and reseal any questionable area with a good flow grade sealer.

My 94 Marquis had (has) stress cracks along the front and rear cap area's that I sealed with EternaBond's MicroSealant adhesive. As noted above resealed any degraded areas around items attached to the roof.  I also had a leak from the antenna during a really hard driving rain. Planing on just replacing the antenna instead of just the seals.  Found leaks around the horn mounts on the front, due to the mounts degrading.  Previous owner of mine appeared to have invested in a case of silastic calk, of which I've been removing and correcting the root problems.
