Title: Price new in 06
Post by: Steve Funk on January 18, 2019, 04:20:10 PM
Curious as to what my coach cost new in 06.  I'm not the original owner so I have no idea.  Anybody know what the sticker price or reasonable purchase price for the 38 Huntington IV back in the day?  Aqua Hot, 400 CAT, etc.

Steve,
Here's the msrp for your coach according to NADA guides. Probably not what it sold for new. Did Beaver Coach sell it?

I found/saved this for my 2005 Patriot - it might provide some idea of costs for new Beavers in that timeframe.
I did notice that the info shown for the 2005 is wrong (i.e. the engine size went to 525HP in 2005 and the price of the Patriot is off a little) but still interesting to see, I think.

Thanks you two for the input.

With that I am thinking it was probably around $200K out the door back in the day.  Dean I dont know where it was purchased, the original owner was out of Newport Beach California.  Mike I saw your post and thats what got me to thinking about the price of this one back then.

With all the upgrades we have done to this coach it would be hard to part with or replace it with anything for now.  Well maybe if we found the right Anthem like Dean did or maybe a ten year newer bigger 43' coach for just the right price.

Thanks
Steve

Our similar coach base-priced at $250k and had $50k in options and upgrades.  The upgrades included a factory “package” bonus (no charge) due to them building too many and needing to sell them.  Thus the MSRP list total would’ve been somewhat over $300k.

Mike,
You really have a Patriot Thunder.  You have the Patriot with the Thunder upgrade.  Other than the engine, there were a few more upgrades and the original list price was over $375,000.

I know I have the Thunder, Roy. Thanks.

My comments were a little confusing.
I was referring to the inconsistencies in the brochure i posted.

On the "left side of the photo" it says the 2005 (base model) Patriot was listed for $312,000 and the optional Thunder package added a 505 HP engine. That engine HP is wrong (so the price is probably wrong too).

The "right side photo (the Patriot by itself) came from a different brochure for the same 05 Patriot (i just copied into the same photo) and it correctly states that the Thunder package is a 525 HP engine. Also the pricing on the right side photo for the Patriot is a little higher ($322,000 for the base model versus the $312K on the left). The Thunder was listed as starting at $377,000. BTW, I have the original purchase order. The price paid was $390,492 in February 2005.

I think the "left side" model lineup info/brochure came out in 2004 for the 2005 model (and had some bad info) and the right side info came out in 2005 (which has more correct info).

So my point was that the pricing shown for on the left side model comparison is probably a little lower than what the 05 coaches actually listed for when they came out.

In 2003 the Patriot Thunder retailed for about 380K.  I have the window sticker somewhere The 2005 had to be more, they don't go down in price!

I have the original build sheet for my 06 Patriot Thunder, it has just about every option that was available for that model. If I remember correctly the msrp was $495000. I will dig it out and post it here, its crazy what they charged for some of the options. I think the big screen tv in the front was a Sharp Aquos around $2400 I think.

We have the build sheet for our Beaver. Its a 40 footer, so probably some difference. The biggest one I can think of would be a King bed in the extra 2 feet.

I've attached a .pdf file.

I was looking over your build sheet - it's crazy that Beaver/Monaco charged $5,562 for a 37" LCD TV. I expect that included some sort of different TV cabinetry, but for that price it should have included a complete Home Theater setup (which had its own pricing) and Theater Seating. Maybe in 2005 a 37" LCD was equivalent (technology wise) to today's pricing for 65" 4K QLED TV   ::)

The only Beaver coach I am familiar with is mine. I did see a 97 Beaver this past summer but did not see the inside. So, I am wondering.... just what is the thunder package?

All brochures are located on the BAC web site, http://beaveramb.org/  Select the "About" button and then "Beaver History". You will find brochures for almost every coach built by Beaver. (They are not under "Beaver Coach Sales History")

Stan, thanks for the PDF that is exactly what I was looking for.  Satisfies my curiosity very well.  My bride would love to have that extra 2' with the King Bed  :)

We purchased a 40" Sony Bravia for our house in 2006, to watch the Super Bowl. We bought it from a chain called Circuit City (out of business) and they gave us the best price over Best Buy. It was $4000. It was stolen when our house was burglarized 5 months later. Our insurance (Nationwide) told us to go out and replace everything we lost, and send them the bill. They said we could upgrade if the replacement cost was less than the purchase price for the original. We replaced it with the exact model, from Best Buy, and it was $3200.00. Went down $800 in 5 months. It weighed about 75 lbs., and you could see the burglars foot prints in the early morning dew. It took two people to carry it to their van or truck. It would not fit in most passenger cars.

Just a note re. the bed.  Our “36” ft  ‘06 Monterey came with a King bed.  We asked BCS to downsize it so we’d have more room along its sides.  I believe all that’s needed to do is widen the plywood platform, to satisfy your wife’s King bed ambitions, Steve.  A King mattress may even work sans that.
