Title: Bidet toilet seat
Post by: Michael Hannan on April 20, 2015, 05:08:30 PM
Hello. Has anyone installed a bidet toilet seat on a Sealand Magnum Opus toilet?  I'd be interested in the brand & model of seat you used.

Thanks
MJ

I am not familiar with Bidit but I thought I would mention I just recieved a new toilet seat from Appliance Zone for our Magnum Opus. It fit prefectly and the color is a match, ours is the bone color. The cost was 130.00 dollars. I found them through a web search and placed my order online. The only issue is it was back ordered so they were about a week late getting it shipped. Other than that no issues.

        Hi Micheal,
I am reading this and trying to figure out a couple of things. Did you convert your Magnum Opus Toilet into a "Bidet"? Not sure why you specified that kind of a toilet seat. Please advise.
       Regards, Fred

No I didn't convert it into a bidet.  I've seen toilets seats that have bidet functionality built into them including warm water & drying. A combination of arthritis & limited room in the toilet closet has prompted me to look at another option like an add on seat. The Magnum Opus has limited room between the seat holes and the faux tank. All of the seat I have found exceed that measurement.  I was wondering if anyone had installed a bidet seat that fit or was retrofitted. I should have included all this in the original post.

Michael,
Looks like Amazon has a fairly good selection. Here's an add on for your current seat.

Steve - Doesn't non-electric mean unheated water?  Now that's something to look forward to.  It may cut down on the DW's use of TP though.  In our house we have a special cupboard for TP.  The inside is crisscrossed with laser beams.  If it senses too much empty cupboard space, then alarms go off.  Just kidding!

Thanks Michael, Now that you shared that info all makes sense. Actually Bidets are a lot of fun if your Honey is in the right mood.
David, Gotta love your sense of humor.

Dave,
I've got the same cupboard..  i.e. the water, one could always plumb hot water to it. We plumbed a toilet to hot water by mistake in the bunkhouse at the hunting ranch in NM. Funny thing was, everyone complained the next year after we had re plumbed it...
Seriously, was only trying to show an example of an alternative approach. We've got a Toto unit in the stick house and I'm waiting for DW to ask for one in the RV..

Thanks everyone. I found this on Amazon.

It has hot & cold water hook up that I can run from the bathroom sink.
