2002 Marquis electrical was working fine on Friday, moved to a new space and it appears one leg of power inop.
This condition was confirmed on Shore and on Generator. Equipment not working, awning, TV, electrical outlets on passengers side.
Please help,
Thanks,
Darrell

Darrell, sounds like a transfer switch has 1 leg not transfering. If you have a meter, remove the cover of the transfer switch (in a compartment near the shore cord going into it) Check voltage between the red and white wires coming from shore, should be 120volts. Next between black and white wires and voltage should be 120 volts. Next locate the output wires going up into the coach to the breaker box. Perform the same test on those wires. You will probably find your problem there. If you have good voltage there, then look inside at the coach breaker box and check voltage at the 50amp circuit breaker (could be a bad breaker on one side)

I am a bit confused about your post stating 2002 Marquis and 2004 Monterey.
We had this problem in our 98 Patriot. It had the Zantrex inverter which had its own circut breaker switches (2) on the front of the inverter case. If one of those kicked off we would lose one leg in power.
logicaly when you moved the coach something kicked off. Should be a simple reset.....I hope!
good luck

You might also check the GFI outlets.

Good reply Keith and Roy, for some reason when i read the problem, I assumed that one of the air conditioners was not working. Now that I have reread his issue, I think you guys may be on to it. If it has a Prosine inverter/converter, isn't there a sub-panel with breakers down in the curb-side storage compartments?

Another good check, are both the ACs working? They are on two different legs that come off before the inverter. If none or only one is working that would point to the transfer switch. If both work then inverter or one of the breaker/Fuses. Thats how mine was at one point. Made me crazy until I finally found a simplified electrical diagram. Good luck.

What Jerry says is interesting, but if he lost 1 leg, I would assume he's reading that off his CMP. So that would really mean 1 leg of the 50amp service.
That being said, if he's just guessing meaning part of his coach (or 1 leg) is out, then perhaps it is one of the breakers. I had this happen on my '99 and not all the power was out, just in the kitchen and I believe the TV, basically the passenger side of the coach. I thought it was a ground fault and replaced the outlet, but no luck, then went looking for breakers in the basement and found them on the back wall (in mine the tanks are behind that wall) and the breakers were just inside my 2nd door on that wall or even on the ceiling I forget now. I could see that one was reset, so I switched it back on and everything was fine.
We blew the breaker using an electrical heater (that's not normally used) along with perhaps the instant hot water.

Thanks for the replies, Fred- we checked voltage in Transfer box and found power only on the shore side.
The Marquis belongs to a fellow Beaver owner who arrived at Petaluma,CA Elks the day after us.
He is a BAC member but not on the Forum so I am helping
as best I can. I will ask him about power to A/C's today and also check for tripped breakers on his Inverter.

Just confirmed with Ken that both AC's are functioning. Will look at Inverter.
Any other thoughts.

I initially noticed that one of the ACs did not work after I had plugged into a bad power box. Long story! Anyway I was not very familiar with any of it as it was a brand new Coach to me at the time, last year. When I finally found the simplified diagram of the inverter functionas, it lead me to the transfer switch but, it was still confusing because I had 115 in the Coach on some outlets. I didn't realize that the inverter was on and still working, sort of! I eventually figured with some help here and from a mobile guy that the one side of the transfer switch on the output side was bad, which is why it didn't work on genny or shore. (remember I'm not an expert, there may still be a lot I don't quite understand about this!) We replaced the transfer switch and both ACs worked fine. Still had some outlets and items that didn't work after checking fuses, breakers and GFIs. Finally figured that the pass through function of the inverter did not function. As I understand it, this allows 115 from shore or genny to run your coach while not using the inverter. What was confusing me is that the inverter functions were still working so I still had some 115 but not others. Anyway finally replaced the inverter and everything back up and running as it should. It was the "pass through" circuitry that was faulty. 5k to fix which was luckily covered by the storage lot insurance company. Anyway there is the extent of my knowledge, such as it is. Good luck. The important part in my story was that I discovered that the AC power actually goes to the ACs before it goes to the inverter functions. Good luck and I hope my ramblings help!

I guess we were typing at the same time!
Good luck.

Here is the simplified or functional diagram of the electrical function that helped me to understand what was going on. On this the connection appears to go into the inverter but it turned out mine that it was actually an outside connection. Confusing stuff.

Steve Huber - Ken Biss is the fellow I am trying to assist with his electrical issue. He is a BAC member.
How does he go about joining the BAC Forum. It's been a while but I believe I had to send an e-mail to Glenda Farris when I joined.
Thanks,
Darrell

Darrell,
I'll send Ken an email with instructions.
