For anyone interested in trying out a new RV Shop that understands working on our Beavers and has the expertise to navigate the intricacies thereof. You may want to give Robert Arndell (Quality Coach Services) a try. I'm from the Sequim Wa area and had many yrs of fine RV Service locally but became alarmed recently when suddenly repairs caused more problems than they fixed. The critical mass for me was when stupidly I decided to add to my old cathode tube backup camera a second multiview camera with side views ended with a fateful decision to get into the dash and pull out my old camera out of the dash instead of adding  the second screen where I put a post-it note for it. That then caused my mirrors and radio/CB wires inside the dash to be scrambled. The Sequim RV shop owner is as honest as the day is long but is dependent on his RV Tech's workmanship. Unfortunately for me the repairs to repair the damage were ineffective,(the dear owner thinks everything got repaired fine but that's another side bar chit chat).
Another critical mass then happened shortly afterward on the chassis side. When they couldn't find a replacement main Hydraulic pump that packed it in soon after the hydraulic fluid went yellow on the SOS. Things wear out and the old fluid didn't help of course.
So I decided to research where I might go too next. Most places didn't even want my Coach on the premises as it was much older then their 10-15yr old rule. I remembered Guaranty RV as well as others in that Coburg area being a go to place with Country Coach/Monaco Hx; but found same limited age requirements.
With my old Beaver functionality lost I pretty much was to the point I might as well give it to Charity. In their defense many of the suppliers for the early Bend Beavers have long ago shut down and Gillig didn't have any documentation on the Hydraulic pump to facilitate replacement. Also, the Awesome Beaver Sales Parts Guru in Bend is no longer answering the phone, sadly.
Enter Quality Coach Services and Peterson CAT and I now have an updated Beaver Coach and Chassis. If I'm allowed to post his facebook post wherein he took pics working on three side by side Beavers inside his oversized Shop; I would love to post it here for eye candy. As it would make those of you who took the tours thru Boyd Acres smile in remembrance of their look and build quality. Also, Robert Arndell is a Beaver owner himself.

Check the plug connections on the back of the ignition switch for loose or burnt connections.

Thanks Paul,

Yes, I have read most of the posts on coating with Epoxy Deck paint or Top Sider.  That is what I had planned to do, but my bad knees will keep me from doing the best I can on the roof.

So I thought I would look at different types of coatings, Silicon coating is one I thinking about having applied.

We have used Rust-Oleum Top Side Marine Paint with great success.  Even after I sold our Beaver I followed up with the new owner and he has not seen evidence of white streaks on the coach!  Some epoxy paints/coatings are not specified for fiberglass.  This product works great on fiberglass.

Easy application and years of good results.  I used white semi-gloss.

I think if you search the forum others have used it as well.

Technical Support / Roof coating question
« Last post by Bill Borden on April 14, 2025, 03:59:42 AM »
Hello,

I have a question regarding roof coating.  Our roof is caulkie, has the drooling effect.  I have been reconsidering my intention of painting the roof with Epoxy Deck paint.

Has anyone resealed their roof with a Silicone coating.  They say you will never have to recoat it, it stays cooler, never fades.  100% Guaranteed for life.  Has anybody tried it, how are the results?

Thanks for the assist.

    Brian,
On my coach, the accessory position energizes the radio, camera and the jack leveling system. What has stopped working on your coach in that position? Fred
