Title: Awning gasket W/PICTURES
Post by: Keith Moffett on August 03, 2020, 08:04:11 AM
This might be different;
We have Girard window awnings and the driver side has gasket slipping out from behind the box.  I cant say I have seen this before.  I am hoping to avoid removal and reset the entire awning.  Any Ideas?  Experience with this?
Thanks

Suggest repair w/ contact cement, or Gorilla Glue, as using a spay such as 3M 77 would guarantee a mess!

Keith,
The part that you are referring to is not a gasket, but it is just a weather-strip that is used between the awning and the outside wall to prevent water from running down the window since the awning is not flush mounted to the wall. Any good weather-strip adhesive should secure it in place.

Thanks Keith and Carol for the pictures,
   Like Gerald suggested the seal sandwiches between the sidewall and the awning case. Clean the area with denatured alcohol then mask and apply 3M-90 adhesive and use a putty knife to wedge it back into location. Nice Saturday adventure, be careful on the ladder! Blessings, Fred

Gerald.  You were spot on!  It was a bulb seal with self adhesive back.  I was able to reglue it and get in position with a putty knife.  Plenty of gap.
Thanks all!
