Post by: Ellen Kaminsky on October 18, 2019, 07:07:31 PM
Hi Forum,
My 2009 Contessa has broken the brass worm gear on my road side bedroom slide.  Looking for a replacement.  Please advise.

I had to to replace the gear unit on our ‘08 Patriot in 2018.  The unit is made by Lippert.  I ordered mine from etrailer.com and the part number was LC133612.  Hope this helps.

I also change the unit in our 2008 Contessa and the part was the same as Norm's.

My slide motor /gearbox assembly failed, and the 133612 has been replaced by LCI Replacement 18:1 Venture Motor and Driveshaft with Right Angle Gear Box - LC117292. Beware that the replacement motor failed in less than four months. The gear ratio on it is 18:1, whereas the 133612 is 18:1 from the motor to the gearbox and then 360:1 from the gearbox to the shaft.
fYI, Frank

I didn’t realize there was a worm gear in the drive assy. Maybe I didn’t dig in far enough. I did however, have to change one of the gears in the gear box assy. Is it one of those gears that broke?
