Title: Front door won't close, help it's freezing outside!
Post by: Tim Schafer on November 21, 2015, 11:48:10 PM
We opened the door to charge up the batteries and now I can't get the door to close.

It's the type where you have to pull the door handle to release the mechanism. I've tried the inside and outside latch and nothing.

Thanks for any help you can provide.

Make sure the lock has not accidentally engaged.  On mine the lock seems to disengage the handle from the internal mechanism.

Good Luck.

Tim,
Look at the bar at the top of the door. It should fold so that the joint points opposite the hinge. If it is worn sometimes they will  try to fold backwards. If not you can remove the arm to close door.

   Good luck

My sisters boyfriend came over and we found a latch up where the hinge connects to the door and we used a screwdriver to rotate the lever and then we could close it. However it no longer locks. But it will get me by thru the winter.

Thanks everyone for giving me some advice.

Tim,
The latching bar on the left jam (opposite the hinges) is adjustable and sometimes get out of adjustment resulting in a door that won't latch. Pretty sure if takes an allen wrench to adjust. Move it just a small amount each time.
