Title: electric fuel pump
Post by: Grant Hayden on January 14, 2020, 08:19:27 PM
I have an estimate of $2,600.00 to install the electric fuel pump on my 2006 Monterey. This seems to be excessive based on information contained on this forum. Your thoughts ?
thanks

Grant,
I installed one myself in early 2017 and parts cost was $650-$700. It took me about 6-8 hrs.

Steve, Thanks. Not sure I have the mechanical ability to install myself. I will have to find a CAT dealer that is familiar with the installation and go there.  This CAT dealer in Elkhart must not be familiar with the installation, their estimate is 997.00 for parts and 1680.00 labor (12-16Hrs).  I have my coach in Elkhart having work done at Master Tech and thought I could have the fuel pump installed while it was there.

Grant
I did my 06 Monterey and took less than 4 hours. Took longer rounding up parts!
