We are planning a trip to Boston and Quebec. Looking for tips on:
— RV park near Boston. Kids are in Needham so west of 95 and south of 90 is best.
— Travel rule for Canada. What papers do dogs require? Any limitations on food brought in , human and dog?
— Overnight camp on Can 402

We've never been asked about food, either 2 legged or 4 legged upon entry to CA, nor about firewood. Have not been asked, but there is a form (health certificate) your vet can provide to verify your pet has been vaccinated. It has to be signed by a vet, so get an appt and take fido in to make sure he is up to date. Upon re-entry to the US, they (US) will ask to see your dog food. The dog food must be in the bag in which it came in, I had dumped ours into a plastic trash can and US customs took all the food (canine) we had. Zorro is on a prescription diet; It was a $100 bag of dog food. The US will ask about fruit and veggies (they took my limes!). They want you to enter the car/RV lanes, not the truck lanes. They look very narrow, and there is a dogleg in the lane, you'll fit just take it slow.

As stated, no handguns and dog vaccination records going north. What are on the lists for food, firewood, etc may not be checked or asked about.
Coming south almost always seems harder and take longer. Passports are required. Food lists seem to vary by crossing due to local needs. Last time we were asked if we had seeds. No we didn't. Then the inspector (with an attitude) found our rice and had to teach us a lesson about seeds.
Maybe because of changing requirements and needs for different crossing points, it is hard to get current and accurate lists. Do your best on the internet, but don't expect perfection.
The booze laws both directions are tricky. If you have a case of something it is obvious you are up to something. But, a liquor cabinet with a lot of partial consumed bottles has never seemed a problem. I can't remember which direction, but one of them limits you to a couple bottles.
Going north you may get a complete search. It happened once to us thirty years ago. We've been thoroughly searched several times coming south, including last year. If you get searched, something will go in the trash.
We lost a bag of California limes coming south too!

Love Canada & Quebec in particular. Be aware however that many parks in QB are old with poor power. Had to move on more than one occasion due to voltage <105V. We plan to bring a Hughs Autoformer next trip (and for Mexico too). https://hughesautoformers.com

Check with the Canada Border Services Agency (https://www.cbsa-asfc.gc.ca/menu-eng.html)for a comprehensive and up-to-date list of items you can and can't bring with you on your trip.
In addition, keep in mind rules vary from province to province.
