Title: Travel medical insurance
Post by: Don Melnechenko on November 21, 2017, 07:12:53 PM
We are Canadian snowbirds, spending 5 months away this winter.  My husband recently turned 70, and OUCH have our travel medical premiums ever taken a jump!  Looking for insight on any providers Canadians are choosing for insurance.  We have always gone with Blue Cross in the past, but now that we are retired they do not seem to be the most economical.

Hi Don and Mary

Marilyn and myself us a couple different insurance companys. Marilyn's policy is purchased through a insurance broker
called Medi-Quote and mind is through Co-operators Travel insurance. When I call the Co-operators they answer the phone
as Good Sam Travel insurance. A third option would be MediPac Travel Insurance that is offered by the Canadian Snowbird
Association. They may be a little more expensive in the beginning but do cover the folks that have trouble getting coverage
from other providers.
Enjoy your travels to warmer weather.
