Title: Chasis Identification
Post by: Larry Barch on March 15, 2018, 08:03:59 PM
I am looking to purchase a RoadMaster Stabilizer.  1.) Any opinions out there on this possible purchase? 2.) I need to know the manufacturer of the chases that is under my 2000 Marquis with a 450 CAT.  Anyone know?

Larry,
The 2000 Marquis is on a Magnum chassis that was manufactured by the Magnum division of SMC, the company that owned Beaver at that time.

Larry, are you looking at the Roadmaster "Reflex" stabilizer (the one with the shock and external spring) that mounts to the tie rod (steering) of the coach? http://www.roadmasterinc.com/products/rss/reflex.html

If so, it looks like it is the same function as the Safe-T-Plus unit many RVers are installing. http://www.safe-t-plus.com/products/  Safe-T-Plus has a lifetime warranty - not sure about the other brand.

If it is the same type - you can compare products and prices and see if one is better for you than the other.

There’s probably nothing wrong with the one you’re considering, given Roadmaster’s reputation.  My tow configuration is entirely Roadmaster.

But many of us have put Safe-T-Plus units on and been happy with them.  I’ve put one on each of the coaches we’ve owned, the first 30 years ago.
