Title: Gouge in slide out floor

I didn't want to hijack the thread started about the slide roller so here's a new one.

In the other thread Stan posted a picture of what looks like a gouge from underneath the slide out, picture #2787.  Not sure if that what it is but I have that happening to the underneath of my front drivers side slide.  Wondering if anyone has had this and if so how they corrected it.  I'm thinking of lifting the slide a bit and inserting a Talin Guarding Plate or similar stainless steel plate to cover the gouge and give the rollers or what ever the mechanism is the slide out is moving on something to travel on that will not gouge out.

1st picture is towards the front of the slide and the 2nd picture is in the middle of the slide, there is a similar gouge as the 1st on the back end of the slide too.


Any thoughts on this would be appreciated.

I went out and took more detailed pictures. No, I don't have gouges. The first two are the bottom of my bedroom slide on the street side. I'm thinking that is a bar just like the ones under my two living room slides. I believe that one is hydraulic, just like the living room. The third picture is a track at the bottom of my bedroom slide on the curb side. That one is a scissor slide and is definitely electric.

I'm sorry about the previous pictures. I'm tall, and I have two prosthetic hips, so bending underneath an extended slide is difficult.

I hope you find what's causing your gouging.

Stan, sounds like you have an hydrolic flat floor slide that glies over a nylon plate when extended. Can you bring the slide part way in to check for the resistance that is causing you slide bottom to tear? Stainless steel plate's have been used on the ends of slide bottoms to help carry the load so using them would work. We have raised our slide by using the 2 adjustable bolts at each end of the slide.
