Title: Ice Maker
Post by: James Walker on June 07, 2016, 08:46:00 PM
Hello, I have a '95 Beaver Patriot and the ice maker has gone bad,  I was wondering if anyone has had that happen and found a small refrigerator that would fit the 14 inch wide by 25 inch high opening?
Thank you.

If you are talking about an U-Line brand ice maker, then repair is easy.  If the compressor is bad, it can be replaced and the system can be recharged at a reasonable cost.  I would recommend a good cleaning before putting it back in the cabinet

If the unit has been setting for a long period of time out of service, then it could just be a stuck timer.  I have fixed many of these units by turning the timer with a power screwdriver.  If that does not work, the ice maker unit is a standard replacement unit available at any appliance repair store.

Good luck,

Thanks a bunch Karl but the unit had set for a long time and ice make unit is shot, compressor and rest is good but wife would prefer a small reefer to fill the spot if we can find one.
